Easy Scanner Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Easy Scanner for mobile devices that was created by Wellrity. We regard the protection and the confidentiality of your data as very important.

Your documents

Unless specified otherwise, your documents are stored on your device and are never sent to a third party server unless your explicitly choose to (eg. export by Email, Dropbox, Box, Evernote…).

What information does Easy Scanner obtain and how is it used?

In order to provide better services to you, Easy Scanner may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and information about the way you use Easy Scanner.

AI & Machine-Learning Training Data

This section explains a specific, optional way Easy Scanner can use the documents you scan: to help train our own artificial-intelligence (AI) and machine-learning (ML) models. It is separate from, and in addition to, the normal storage and backup of your finished scans described elsewhere in this Policy. This collection is turned off by default and never happens unless you choose to turn it on.

What we collect. When this feature is enabled, Easy Scanner uploads the original image of a scan — the raw photo taken by your camera before you crop it and before any filter or enhancement is applied. This is the full, uncropped, unedited picture, which may show more of the document and its surroundings than the final scan you keep. Because you decide what to photograph, these original images can contain highly sensitive information, including government-issued IDs, passports and driver's licenses; bank statements and other financial documents; medical and health records; and any other personal information visible in the photo.

Why we collect it. We use these original images only to train and improve our own AI/ML models — specifically (1) automatic document-edge ("quad") detection, so the app can find the edges of a document automatically, and (2) image filtering and enhancement, so scans look clearer and more readable. We use this data only to develop and improve Easy Scanner's own features. We do not use it for advertising, marketing, or profiling, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

It is off by default, and opt-in. We do not collect original images for AI training unless you give your permission first. Before any original image is uploaded, the app shows you a one-time request explaining this feature; collection begins only if you choose Allow. You can turn it on or off at any time in Settings → Data sharing. When the setting is off, Easy Scanner does not collect or upload original images for AI training. You never have to enable this feature to use Easy Scanner — all scanning, cropping, enhancement and backup features work fully whether or not it is on.

Signed-in and not-signed-in users. This feature is available to both signed-in users and users who have not created or logged into an account. In both cases collection happens only after you opt in — if you never opt in, nothing is uploaded for AI training. If you used the app without signing in, opted in, and later sign in, the original images already collected may be re-linked to your account so they become associated with your identity.

Legal basis (EU/UK). Where original images contain ordinary personal data, we rely on your consent (UK GDPR / EU GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Where they contain special-category data (such as health, medical, or biometric information) or other sensitive content, we rely on your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time via Settings → Data sharing; withdrawal is as easy as giving consent and does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew.

California and other US-state residents. Original images, including any sensitive personal information they contain, are used for the AI-training purpose described above only if you opt in. You have the right to limit the use of your sensitive personal information and to opt out of this collection using Settings → Data sharing.

Your responsibility for what you scan. You control which documents you photograph. Please avoid scanning documents that contain other people's personal or sensitive information, or any information you are not entitled to share, while this setting is enabled. Turning off Settings → Data sharing prevents your original images from being collected for AI training.

Where the data is stored and who processes it. Original images are stored on our servers, including secure cloud storage operated by trusted service providers that act on our behalf and are contractually bound to use the data only for the purposes we direct. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. These original images are not counted toward your storage quota, because they are kept separately for the AI-training purpose described here.

How long we keep it, and deletion. We keep original images only as long as needed for the AI-training purposes described above, after which they are deleted or de-identified. You can stop future collection at any time via Settings → Data sharing, and you can request deletion of original images we have already collected — including removal of your images from future training datasets — by contacting us at support@easyscanner.io or using the in-app deletion option (see Data Deletion). When you delete your account or request erasure, we delete the original images associated with your account from our active storage and exclude them from future model training. Information already incorporated into a previously trained model may not be individually retrievable from that model; in that case we remove your source images and exclude them from all future training.

Your rights and contact. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data; to object to or withdraw consent for this processing; to limit the use of sensitive information; and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy at any time. Please notice our Privacy Policy regularly to acknowledge the latest update.

Your Consent

By using Easy Scanner, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information.

Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your Easy Scanner account and all data associated with it at any time, directly in the app:

1. Open Easy Scanner.
2. Go to My Account → Account Info.
3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

When you confirm, your account is scheduled for deletion and enters a 30-day grace period. During this period you can cancel the deletion at any time by simply signing back in. If you do not sign back in, your account and data are permanently and irreversibly deleted after 30 days.

What is deleted: your account profile and authentication details — including data from whichever sign-in method you used (Google, Apple, Facebook, X, or email) — together with your scanned documents and pages and the associated files stored in our cloud. This applies regardless of which login provider you used.

If you used Facebook (or another social login) and can no longer access the app, you can still request deletion by emailing support@easyscanner.io from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account." We will verify the request, permanently delete your account and data within 30 days, and confirm once it's complete.

We retain limited records only where required by law (e.g., billing/transaction records for tax purposes); these are kept no longer than legally required and are not used for any other purpose.

Cancellation of personal account

You may contact us at support@easyscanner.io to cancel your account. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. After cancelation of your account, we are not obliged to keep or provide information under your account. Except as otherwise provided by law, we will delete your personal information if so requested by you.

Severability

If there is anything herein contradicting the legal provisions applicable to it, the legal provisions prevail over the contradicting part. If there is anything not covered hereunder, the applicable legal provisions will fill in and govern.

If any clause or part of the Privacy Policy is declared or ruled according to applicable law unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the other clause or other part of the Privacy Policy shall not be affected. The Privacy Policy is to be interpreted with the unlawful, invalid or unenforceable clause or part being deleted
